TIPS TO MOVING
SUCCESSFUL & STRESS FREE

  1. Always pack the items in the proper size box.
Give us a call and we can help supply you with the right number of boxes to get you started packing.
  2. Start by packing items you will not need in advance.
  3. Small Box (1.5 cubic ft) good for books, records, CD’s, videos, papers, can goods, etc.
  4. Medium Box (3.0 cubic ft) good for pots, pans, Tupperware, dishcloths, shoes, clothes and small appliances such as toasters, blenders, coffee pots, etc.
  5. Large Box (4.5 cubic ft) good for lightweight items such as large pots, bedding, pillows, quilts, towels, shoes and clothes, etc.
  6. Ex-Large Box (6.1 cubic ft) good for lightweight items, as described above.
  7. Dish Barrels (5.2 cubic ft) good for all glassware, dishes, fine crystal & china, lamps, vases, computer & stereo equipment, etc.
  8. Wardrobes (12 cubic ft) good for hanging clothes, coats and long awkward or bulky items.
  9. Make sure all breakables are individually wrapped.
  10. All items need to be placed in the box so that contents fit snug. Use linens to help fill the space.
  11. Pack all boxes to the top. This alleviates the box from crushing and prevents breakage. (Just remember to pack tight and full).
  12. Furniture such as dressers, nightstands and chest of drawers may be left packed with clothes and linen only.
  13. Remove and Pack anything of value and/or breakables. Keep them safe in your care.
  14. Large cabinets, armoires and/or triple dressers must be unloaded and packed.
  15. Fragile/antique pieces of furniture are recommended to remove items from the drawers. The wood is very dry, and legs of such furniture tend to be weak and brittle.
  16. Important legal documents, valuables, and family medical records should be personally transported and packed when you first start packing.
  17. We are not liable for lost, stolen or damaged items left in drawers.
  18. Avoid mixing items from different rooms in the same boxes.
  19. Put detailed labels on tops and sides of all boxes.
  20. Pack an essential box of things that you will need immediately at your new home and make sure it is loaded last on the truck so that the contents will be immediately available at your new home.
  21. Boxes must always be taped rather than interlocking the ends together.
  22. Never pack items in trash bags, bags do not stack and will tend to tear.
